POSITION TITLE:    Manager: Program Logistics, Child Development Dept.   OBJECTIVE:  Provides the Administrative services of the Child Development Department including oversight of data and recordkeeping, enrollments, supervision of support staff, grant/contract responsibilities, oversight of purchasing, billings;  planning events & trainings, media and public awareness,   assist with the oversight of Child Care Development Fund program, and Child Care center.  QUALIFICATIONS:  Candidates must demonstrate their ability to accomplish the Essential Job Results stated in the detailed job description.  Please ask for a copy.   Education.  Associate degree or Bachelors in Early Childhood Education, Business, Computer applications, or related field.   Valuable experience:  Previous Head Start experience is highly valuable due to complexity of regulations.  Service delivery in rural Alaska.  Management role in providing administrative support services preferably in a school or early childhood developmentsetting; work involving Federal programs, fiscal management, and staff supervision.  Certifications:   Candidate must meet the eligibility criteria of the Alaska Barrier Crimes regulations as a prerequisite to hiring.  Clearance is processed through the State of AK Background Clearance Unit and includes fingerprints.   Must have or be willing/able to obtain Certification of CPR/First Aide training and passa post hire physical.  Important attributes: Ability to organize and accomplish complex responsibilities within deadlines.  Ability to make sound decisions and recommendations independently with discretion.   Excellent written and verbal communication and research skills.  Ability to establish and promote effective working relationships,  sustain open communications with colleagues, Policy Council, regulatory and service agencies, and individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.  Demonstrated strong commitment to and enjoyment of early childhood education and improving outcomes for low income children and families.      Computer:  Familiarity with Apple (used by school districts) and Microsoft (BBNA’s) operating systems.  Ability to learn and possess advanced operating skill with department data base and internet technologies.  Desktop Publishing.  Website design and maintenance is valuable.   Knowledge of the Bristol Bay region, culture, lifestyles.  Essential physical abilities: Lift up to 50lbs.  Stamina to accomplish job results below.   Complete achievement of certain of the above specifications may not be required if, in the opinion of BBNA a particular candidate possesses significant offsetting characteristics, such as past accomplishments, experience, education, or estimate of future potential.  

DUTY STATION: Dillingham.  REPORTS TO:   Child Development Department Director.
