OBJECTIVE: Provides a wide variety of legal and technical assistance services to the BBNA administration and Board, BBNA programs, and Tribal governments.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must demonstrate the ability to accomplish the Essential Job Results stated below. Member of the Alaska Bar. Knowledge of Native issues in Alaska and of Federal legislation affecting Natives such as ANSCA, ANILCA, PL 93-638 (as amended), the Indian Child Welfare Act, etc.. Minimum of three years of experience in Native affairs law. Must possess excellent research and writing skills and be able to relate such information to BBNA Board, membership, and tribal councils. Ability to work with tribal governments and state and federal agencies. Knowledge of BIA programs and functions important. Must be committed to the goal of strengthening tribal governments.
PREFERRED: Familiarity with the customs and cultures of Bristol Bay. Must be willing to travel within and outside the region. DUTY STATION: Dillingham. Options to work remotely will be considered. REPORTS TO: President & Chief Executive Officer.
