Summer Intern: Fisheries Temporary / Full Time – Two to three months in the period from early June to mid August 2023
OBJECTIVE: Through collaboration with partnering agencies, these internships will provide on-the-job learning experience as well as science and field experience for a student of anthropology, natural resources, fisheries, or related field. Each intern will be under supervision of BBNA’s Natural Resources Intern Coordinator. The supervisor will monitor progress and provide final evaluation of students’ work.
QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled in post-secondary educational program in any science field, with extra consideration given to natural resources, biology or fisheries biology majors. Some internships require that the applicant must be at least 18 years of age, pass a background check and/or pre-employment drug screening. Prefer one year of post-secondary college education or training in field. Demonstrated interest in related field of study as it applies to Bristol Bay natural resource management and willingness to learn. Experience with word processing and data entry software. Ability to work independently, follow directions appropriately and organize materials and time effectively are a must. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good organizational skills and abilities are recommended, as is familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people, and culture.
WAGE: $22.50 per hour
REPORTS TO: Natural Resources Intern Coordinator
DUTY STATION: Field Research Stations throughout Bristol Bay.
