OBJECTIVE: Train staff on BBNA’s implementation of Tribal Assistance Software (TAS), a modular server-based data entry program. This software is utilized to track client data, benefit information, payment distributions, and to collect/prepare data for submission to Federal agencies. The Training Specialist will work closely with the Database Services Division Manager and all Workforce Development staff to determine TAS training needs, host in-person and virtual training sessions, and develop training regimens and documentation. This position will also collaborate with our software vendor, Eaglesun Systems Products, to supplement their own training and gain insights into new TAS developments.

Preferred: Undergraduate degree or professional certifications in database systems or related field(s). 2-3 years’ work experience in a data entry, database management, or technical support role. Related work experience may be substituted for formal education at BBNA discretion. Previous experience in hosting staff trainings in a virtual or in-person setting. Highly developed customer service skills, paired with the ability to convey training concepts in an easily understandable manner. Familiarity with the TAS program or other Tribal support software platforms highly desired. Advanced knowledge of data entry programs, Windows 10/11 platforms, Remote Desktop Protocol, Remote Desktop Web Access, Microsoft Office applications, Crystal Reports program, SQL database management programs, Google Workspace, or Atlassian software is highly valued.
Required: Familiarity with data entry concepts and data stewardship. Soft skills and basic computer skills are a must. Ability to adhere to a set work schedule with punctual attendance. Carry out primary duties with minimal supervision or oversight. Strong work ethic, with a desire for learning and the ability to teach others. Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to pursue project goals and meet deadlines while working individually or as a team. Alaska Driver’s License and proof of insurance. Familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people, cultures, and the unique challenges of service delivery in remote Alaska.

WAGE: $21.87/hr ($42,656.00) – $30.08/hr ($58,653.00)
