BENEFITS MANAGER
OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for the overall management and the financial accountability of BBNA’s benefits programs including a 401(k), 403(b), FEHB Medical, HRAs, Short & Long Term Disability/Life and Voluntary Life & Critical Illness coverages. Works independently under general supervision to implement benefits in accordance with BBNA’s plan documents, the IRS and DOL regulations, and annual audits. Work entails payroll benefit assignments and adjustments, the accounting and reconciliation of benefits billings, enrollments, and record keeping. Serves as primary contact for employees, managers, and outside agencies for information related to benefits, work related injury claims and workplace safety.

Education/experience: Related college education, and/or increasingly responsible experience managing Benefits Accounting, Benefits Payroll systems, Human Resources at a managerial level. Experience with Employee Benefit Plan Audits is desirable. Familiarity with the reporting requirements for employee benefits such as the Affordable Care Act; IRS, DOL, ERISA, and OSHA as well as payroll operations and general ledger accounting processes. Willingness to learn & increase knowledge in this field. The ability to organize around timelines and pay strict attention to detail is important, along with having strong interpersonal skills & ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and agencies.
Computer skills required: Advanced ability to manipulate data and create reports in Excel database and use finance accounting software. Familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people, and cultures.
