Field Worker/Laborer; Forestry Program
OBJECTIVE: Perform field labor work such as forest inventory, vegetation mapping, hazard fuel reduction and other Forestry Program projects.
QUALIFICATIONS: Job qualifications are stated below as Essential Job Results. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to accomplish these results. Absolute requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred: Similar work experience including familiarity with running a chain saw and experience with using GPS. Valid Alaska driver’s license and a clean driving record. Familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people, and cultures. Familiarity with restricted property sites.
Physical demands: Field work will require physical abilities to: operate a chainsaw safely as well as other equipment and provide limited maintenance; withstand harsh environmental conditions, travel by small aircraft, helicopter, ATV’s, and boats; work extended periods in field locations both in summer and winter; walk at least six miles per day in rugged terrain; lift and carry up to 50 pounds, sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, stretch, and reach; visual and audio abilities.
WAGE: $25.00/hr
