Human Resources Director

Human Resources Director OBJECTIVE: The HR Director is responsible for planning, oversight, and assignment of duties related to recruiting and retention, policy development and implementation, compensation, employee relations, safety, training, records management, and benefits including the financial accounting, payroll, audit, and regulatory reporting. This position reports to the President & CEO and is responsible for leadership of BBNA’s HR Team. QUALIFICATIONS: Job qualifications are stated as Essential Job Results in the detailed job description. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to accomplish these results. 

Job knowledge required: Four-year related college degree and ten years of experience with substantial managerial and supervisory responsibility. Prefer educational emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, Administration/Management, or other closely related disciplines.  Excellent research and writing skills. Experience/understanding of administering retirement and health benefits including financial accounting and regulations. Ability to make sound decisions and recommendations independently with discretion. Knowledge of the Bristol Bay region, culture, lifestyles, Tribal Governments, and rural Alaska service delivery.

Administrative experience with Native non-profit organizations including current philosophies and methods of administering. Computer word processing, finance software, database, and internet capabilities. Ability to establish and promote effective working relationships and sustain open communications with employees, supervisors, officials, and public. DUTY STATION:  Dillingham Central Office.

REPORTS TO: President & Chief Executive Officer.

SALARY:  $76,875 – $123,170/yr. DOE.
