Tribal Government Services

Community Services maintains tribe-based administrator and clerk positions for the 20 tribes participating in the BBNA Compact of Self-Governance with the Department of Interior, Office of Self-Governance “Compact” to administer Compact Tribal Pass-through funding, 3 Accounting & Office Management Specialist (A&OMS) positions, and a Director to provide oversight and technical assistance to tribe-based employees and tribal supervisors/officials. Tribal Government
Services provides outreach to tribes to ensure all are informed of important tribal opportunities. The support provided assists tribes to strengthen administrative capacity and promotes self-determination.

The Compact tribal pass-through funding includes Consolidated Tribal Government Services and Johnson O’Malley funding for the operation of tribally designed programs, and several pots of one-time restricted funding for Tribal Courts, and COVID CARES Act and ARPA funding.
