Promoting Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Bristol Bay
The BBNA Economic Development Program oversees some of the Regional Energy projects. It is charged with promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy through disseminating information, planning, partnering, advocating and administering programs and projects. These efforts support the Bristol Bay Regional Vision by fostering coordination and promoting regional planning.
Tribal Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates Program
The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP) has up to $225 million to grant to Tribal governments and Alaska Native entities for Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates.
This program will provide up to $14,000 per eligible household for energy efficiency and electrification home upgrades. This is non-competitive funding, but the tribes need to apply to access it. Applications are rolling and are open through May 31, 2025.
If a Tribe chooses not to apply by this deadline, their funding may be reallocated to other Tribes that are administering a rebate program.
