USDA Seafood Trade Relief Program Information

Applications are Due December 14, 2020, this is NOT a first come first serve-all applications will be reviewed.

Eligibility Information and Quick tips for applicants—Review all attachments for detailed instructions:

  • The USDA Seafood Trade Relief Program is available to Permit Holders Only.
  • 2016, 2017, and 2018 taxes must have been filed to qualify. Complete the CCC941 so the USDA can verify with the IRS your taxes have been filed and need to be turned in with in 50 days of your application.
  • Direct Marketers are not eligible, must have sold fish to a larger processor that competes on a global market.
  • Both Herring and Salmon are eligible.
  • Include your phone number on your application.
  • Mari-culture operation are not eligible.
  • Each permit holder is eligible up to $250,000.
  • This is based on your 2019 Harvest, provide proper backup to the USDA such as a settlement sheet from your processor.
  • Send your from to our local USDA office located in Palmer.
  • To determine your gross estimated payment take the total number of pounds harvested and multiply that by 16 cents. for example if you harvested 100,000, that is 100,000lbs. x $0.16/lbs.= $16,000.00.
  • The USDA will be auditing application at random so please be as accurate as possible.
  • Do NOT OVER STATE your harvest.
