Alaska Native Vietnam Veterans Allotment Program (ANVLAP)

Bristol Bay Native Association Land Management Services (LMS) is working with Alaska Native Vietnam Veterans Allotment Program (ANVLAP) who has folks from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Alaska Native Veteran Land Allotment Program (ANVLAP) coming out to Dillingham Oct. 13, 2022, from 10 am to 4pm located in the BBNA Main Office Board Room.   If you are Alaska Native Vietnam Veteran or know of a veteran or a possible heir, please let them know they can either visit with BLM, BIA, Ak. Department of Military Affairs of Alaska Legal Services here in Dillingham or call on the phone.  You will find a Notice of the event attached for your review. If you can, please post the attached notice in a highly visible place where community members can view this notice. The following is an announcement BLM has running on the radio at this time.

“The ANVLAP program staff are actively reaching out to eligible Alaska Native veterans – and we especially need eligible folks to apply (or their estate’s appointed representative to apply on the veteran’s behalf).  If you know anyone who served in the Vietnam war from 1965 to 1971, Alaska Native veteran who served from 1964 – 1971, we would appreciate having the vet and or personnel representative come to BBNA Main Office on October 13 for assistance with the Native Veteran Allotment Application for Land. BIA will be here to help with maps and/or probates Department of Military Affairs will help obtain DD214s and Alaska Legal Services will help with personnel representative’s paperwork. Now is the Veteran’s Chance to Receive Assistance in person. LMS Staff will be on site if needed and has a Yupik interpreter available if needed.
