The Youth Employment Program is available for youth between the ages of 14-24 residing in the Bristol Bay Region.
The program is designed to provide valuable work skills and identify areas of interest which can lead to short-term employment opportunities and long-term careers.
Youth ages 14 and 16 will not be placed into a work site.
Instead, they will be mailed four weekly work readiness academic packets. Each packet needs to be completed and will be graded.
Youth achieving at least a 75% will receive a benefit payment of $250.00 per weekly packet. Youth can earn up to $1000 for completing the entire session.
Youth ages 16-24 will be placed on a work site this year.
Due to limited work sites, all work sites are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage youth to seek job placements in areas of interest.
Applicants with a complete application who are not offered a work site will be offered an opportunity to complete a work readiness packet.
YEP Session dates:
Session 1: June 15, 2026 – July 10, 2026
Session 2: July 13, 2026 – Aug 7, 2026

- WFD Application for Services
- Affidavit of Residency
- Social Security Card (For Applicant ONLY)
- Birth Certificate (For Applicant ONLY)
- If 17 YOA or Under – Parental Consent (pg. (Apply early if you need assistance with obtaining Documents)
- Youth 17 and under – State of Alaska Work Permit
- Signed Plan (This will be done with your case worker)
